Zinc acetate

HSP-70 Regulator, Immune Response Modulator, Prostate Cancer Cytotoxic Agent

Zinc acetate serves as an immune response modulator, primarily by enhancing the expression of HSP-70 mRNA. It has been shown to restore splenocyte proliferation and cytokine production, while also reducing apoptosis levels in endotoxemic murine models. In addition, zinc acetate increases plasma zinc concentrations and improves survival rates in LPS-induced endotoxemia. Furthermore, it exhibits potent cytotoxic effects against prostate cancer cell lines in vitro and inhibits the growth of prostate cancer xenografts in SCID mice. This compound is relevant for research in endotoxemia and cancer therapies.
