12(R)-HETE

TP Receptor Antagonist

12(R)-HETE is a thromboxane A2 (TP) receptor antagonist that modulates proinflammatory signaling pathways. This CYP-dependent metabolite of arachidonic acid exhibits multiple biological activities, including chemotaxis, proangiogenesis, vasodilation, and reduction of intraocular pressure. Its ability to inhibit Na+,K+-ATPase activity and block intracellular calcium increases induced by TP agonists further adds to its relevance in research. 12(R)-HETE is useful in studies focused on psoriasis, inflammatory skin diseases, and ocular inflammation.
