2,6-Dibromophenol

Ca2+ Channel Inhibitor

2,6-Dibromophenol is a weak inhibitor of voltage-gated Ca2+ channels. This compound has been shown to have no significant impact on potassium-induced calcium elevation in PC12 cells, making it a valuable tool for studying calcium signaling pathways. Additionally, 2,6-Dibromophenol exhibits ecological effects with a 48-hour EC50 of 2.78 mg/L for Daphnia magna and a 96-hour EC50 of 9.90 mg/L for Scenedesmus quadricauda, highlighting its relevance in environmental toxicity studies.
