2'-Deoxyadenosine

Adenine Nucleoside

2'-Deoxyadenosine is an adenine nucleoside that modulates cellular metabolism by inhibiting glucose-stimulated insulin release and reducing islet cyclic AMP (cAMP) accumulation. This compound activates caspase-3, promoting apoptosis, and inhibits the enzyme S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine hydrolase (SAHH). Additionally, 2'-Deoxyadenosine demonstrates notable inhibitory effects on the growth of various cancer cell types, including colon cancer, making it a valuable tool for research in metabolic and oncology studies.
