6-Hydroxynicotinic acid

Intermediate

6-Hydroxynicotinic acid is an intermediate in the oxidation of nicotinic acid, primarily targeted by Pseudomonas fluorescens. This compound has been identified in root exudates of Cucumis melo and is known to disrupt the auxin signaling pathway. Its inhibitory effects on haustoria precursor formation in Phlipanche aegyptiaca make it a valuable tool for research on plant signaling and parasitic plant interactions.
