7-Azido-4-methylcoumarin

H2S Probe

7-Azido-4-methylcoumarin operates primarily as a fluorescent probe for hydrogen sulfide (H2S). This compound is utilized for its high sensitivity in assessing cystathionine β-synthase activity. With an azide functional group, it is capable of undergoing copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAc) and ring strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) when interacting with alkyne-containing molecules or those featuring DBCO or BCN groups. Its applications extend to biological research exploring H2S signaling and related metabolic pathways.
