(+)-Abscisic aldehyde

Intermediate product of ABA

(+)-Abscisic Aldehyde (ABAld) is an essential intermediate in the biosynthesis of the plant hormone abscisic acid (ABA). It is formed through the dehydrogenation of xanthoxin, followed by selective oxidation by abscisic aldehyde oxygenase. This compound exhibits oxidizing activity associated with ABA accumulation in older leaves under conditions of salinity and nutrient deficiency. (+)-Abscisic Aldehyde serves as a valuable reagent for research focused on plant growth and development.
