alpha-Hydroxy farnesyl phosphonic acid

Farnesyl Transferase Inhibitor

Alpha-Hydroxy farnesyl phosphonic acid is a nonhydrolyzable analog of farnesyl pyrophosphate that serves as a competitive inhibitor of farnesyl transferase (FTase). It exhibits significant biological activity in inhibiting the processing of Ras in Ha-ras-transformed NIH3T3 cells at concentrations exceeding 1 μM. This compound is valuable for research applications aimed at studying Ras signaling pathways and the implications in oncogenesis.
