Anticopalic acid

Insecticide

Anticopalic acid is a labdane-type diterpenoid that functions as an insect antifeedant. It demonstrates significant dose-dependent antifeedant activity against the fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda), suggesting its potential role in pest management. Isolated from Vitex hemsleyi, anticopalic acid may influence neuroreceptor-mediated taste regulation in insects, presenting opportunities for the development of environmentally sustainable antifeedants aimed at lepidopteran pests.
