Antimalarial agent 12 (compound R-3b) is a potent antimalarial compound targeting Plasmodium falciparum. It demonstrates significant growth inhibition against the Dd2 strain (EC50=155 nM) and the 3D7 strain (EC50=136 nM). Additionally, Antimalarial agent 12 exhibits a CC50 of 10,000 to 50,000 nM in HEK-293 and hPHep cell lines, indicating its safety profile, while it shows a minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of >250,000 nM against Escherichia coli. This compound is valuable for research in malaria treatment and drug development.
