Antimalarial agent 38

Antimalarial Agent

Antimalarial agent 38 is an orally active compound that targets Plasmodium falciparum, demonstrating effective inhibition of both Chloroquine-sensitive and Chloroquine-resistant strains, with IC50 values of 0.5 μM for the D6 strain, 13 μM for the Thai strain, 1 μM for the FcB1 strain, and 13 μM for the K1 strain. This agent exhibits non-cytotoxicity in mammalian MCR58 cells (IC50 > 140 μM). Additionally, antimalarial agent 38 has been shown to enhance the survival rate in a mouse model infected with Plasmodium yoelii nigeriensis, making it a valuable tool for antimalarial research.
