CMV Inhibitor
BAY-43-9695 is a non-nucleosidic inhibitor targeting human cytomegalovirus (hCMV) replication. It demonstrates potent anti-hCMV activity with IC50 values of 0.95 μM and 1.1 μM, as assessed by flow cytometry and plaque reduction assays. The compound effectively inhibits hCMV replication in the presence and absence of serum proteins, showing IC50 values of 0.53 μM and 8.42 μM, respectively. Moreover, BAY-43-9695 is a metabolite of Tomeglovir (BAY38-4766), making it useful in studying hCMV infections and potential antiviral therapies.
