C6 NBD L-threo-ceramide

Fluorochrome

C6 NBD L-threo-ceramide is a fluorochrome that acts as a cell-permeable analog of ceramides, marked by the fluorescence of C6 nitrobenzoxadiazole. This compound is utilized to label the Golgi apparatus and undergoes rapid transfer between liposomes. It is metabolized to C6 NBD sphingomyelin in various cell types, including BHK cells and V79 fibroblasts, making it a valuable tool for studying sphingolipid metabolism and intracellular transport mechanisms.
