Cabamiquine

Antimalarial Agent

Cabamiquine (DDD107498) is a highly effective antimalarial agent that demonstrates potent activity against multiple life-cycle stages of the Plasmodium falciparum parasite, with an EC50 of 1 nM for the 3D7 strain. It exerts its biological effects by inhibiting protein synthesis through the targeting of elongation factor 2 (eEF2) and CaMKIII, exhibiting an EC50 of 2 nM for wild-type Pf-eEF2. This compound is valuable for research applications focused on malaria treatment and the mechanisms of drug action.
