CAD031

Neuroprotective Agent

CAD031 is an orally active neuroprotective agent that functions as an activator of the AMPK/ACC1 signaling pathway. This compound can effectively cross the blood-brain barrier, enhancing mitochondrial function by activating AMPK and inhibiting ACC1, which leads to increased ac-CoA levels and a reduction in free fatty acid synthesis. CAD031 demonstrates significant potential in promoting neurogenesis, improving memory, and is applicable in research on Alzheimer's disease and aging-related neurodegenerative disorders. In preclinical studies, CAD031 has shown to enhance memory in mice and stimulate dendritic structure and cell division in the brain's germinal zone.
