Canocapavir

Antiviral Agent

Canocapavir is an orally active antiviral agent targeting the hepatitis B virus (HBV) core protein. By binding to the hydrophobic pocket at the dimer-dimer interface of HBV core protein (HBc), it stimulates the intracellular accumulation of nonfunctional HBV capsids, thereby disrupting viral replication. Additionally, Canocapavir inhibits the interaction between HBc and the HBV large surface protein, leading to a reduction in the production of empty virions. This compound is valuable for research into HBV infection and its therapeutic interventions.
