Capsorubin

Apoptosi Inhibitor

Capsorubin is a carotenoid that functions as an apoptosis inhibitor. It demonstrates significant cytoprotective effects by inhibiting lipid peroxidation induced by 2,2'-azobis(2,4-dimethylvaleronitrile) at a concentration of 167 μM. Additionally, Capsorubin at 1 μM effectively reduces UVB-induced DNA strand breaks and apoptosis in human dermal fibroblasts. It also suppresses the activation of Epstein-Barr virus early antigen (EBV-EA) by phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate in Raji cells, indicating its potential role in cancer research and tumorigenesis studies.
