CBT-295

ATX Inhibitor

CBT-295 is an orally active inhibitor of autotaxin (ATX), a key enzyme implicated in various inflammatory processes. This compound significantly decreases inflammatory cytokines such as TGF-β, TNF-α, and IL-6, while also lowering bile duct proliferation marker CK-19 and mitigating liver fibrosis. CBT-295's ability to reverse liver fibrosis correlates with reduced blood and brain ammonia levels, as well as diminished neuroinflammation caused by ammonia. It presents a valuable tool for research focused on liver cirrhosis and associated encephalopathy.
