MMP Inhibitor

CGS 27023A is a non-peptidic, orally active inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), exhibiting Ki values of 43 nM for MMP-3, 33 nM for MMP-1, 20 nM for MMP-2, and 8 nM for MMP-9. This compound effectively prevents cartilage degradation in a stromelysin-induced rabbit cartilage model. CGS 27023A is suitable for studying diseases such as arthritis and exploring the role of MMPs in various pathological conditions.
