Cipargamin enantiomer

Antimalarial Agent

Cipargamin enantiomer is a spirotetrahydro β-carboline that serves as an effective inhibitor of Plasmodium falciparum, the causative agent of malaria. This compound demonstrates significant antiplasmodial activity against various strains, with an IC50 of 77 nM for the NF54 strain. Additionally, Cipargamin enantiomer exhibits low intrinsic clearance in mouse and human liver microsomes and does not inhibit CYP2C9. It is a valuable tool for research focused on malaria and the development of antimalarial therapies.
