Coumberone

AKR1C Isoforms Substrate

Coumberone is a selective substrate for all AKR1C isoforms, functioning as a metabolic fluorogenic probe. It can be enzymatically reduced by the four members of the AKR1C family into the fluorescent product coumberol. This compound is useful in studying the catalytic activities and pharmacological roles of AKR1C enzymes in various biological contexts. Its fluorescent properties enable sensitive detection and quantitative analysis in research applications related to enzyme kinetics and metabolic profiling.
