Cyclam
Metal Chelator
Cyclam is a metal chelator that efficiently forms complexes with various metal ions. These metal complexes demonstrate significant biological activities, including anti-HIV effects, nitric oxide (NO) releasing and scavenging properties, as well as superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimetic activity. Cyclam and its metal complexes, such as Zn(II)-Cyclam and Mn(III)-Cyclam, are valuable tools for research in virology, oxidative stress, and metal ion regulation.
