Cystemustine

DNA Inhibitor

Cystemustine is a chloroethyl nitrosourea (CENU) that acts as a DNA inhibitor through the formation of DNA cross-links. This mechanism disrupts tumor cell proliferation and induces cytotoxic effects by interfering with the cell cycle, promoting cell re-differentiation, and altering phospholipid metabolism. Cystemustine demonstrates significant anti-tumor efficacy and a relatively short plasma half-life in murine models. This compound is applicable in research focused on various malignant tumors, including melanoma, glioma, renal cancer, head and neck cancer, and colorectal cancer.
