Diminazene aceturate

Trypanocidal Agent

Diminazene aceturate is a potent trypanocidal agent primarily targeting Trypanosoma parasites. Its mechanism of action involves binding to trypanosomal kinetoplast DNA (kDNA) non-intercalatively, specifically at sites rich in adenine-thymine base pairs, leading to inhibition of parasite replication. In addition to its trypanocidal properties, Diminazene aceturate also activates angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) and exhibits strong anti-inflammatory activities, making it valuable for various research applications, particularly in veterinary medicine and investigations of inflammatory pathways.
