Diminazene

Antitrypanosomal Compound

Diminazene is an aromatic diamidine compound primarily targeting trypanosomiasis by inhibiting the replication of trypanosome parasites through its binding to kinetoplast DNA (kDNA). This compound exhibits key antitrypanosomal activity and is essential in researching treatments for this disease. Additionally, Diminazene demonstrates potential as an activator of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) and may be explored for therapeutic applications in hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis, and immunomodulation.
