DOPG

Phosphatidylglycerol Phospholipid

Dioleoylphosphatidylglycerol (DOPG) is a negatively charged phosphatidylglycerol phospholipid known for its significant presence in prokaryotic cell membranes and mitochondria. It exhibits a low phase transition temperature, allowing for the formation of stable vesicles. DOPG plays a crucial role in inhibiting inflammatory mediators in macrophages activated via heat shock protein B4 (HSPB4) and toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2). This reagent is essential for studies in membrane biology, drug-membrane interactions—particularly with negatively charged membranes—and the development of drug delivery systems, as well as investigations into sterile corneal inflammation and wound healing.
