Elsulfavirine sodium

VM1500A Prodrug

Elsulfavirine sodium is a prodrug that serves as an allosteric inhibitor of HIV-1 non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase, primarily through its active metabolite VM1500A. It also inhibits human carbonic anhydrase isoforms and blocks interactions between adenylosuccinate lyase and insulin-induced gene proteins, leading to decreased lipid synthesis and cancer cell proliferation. This compound demonstrates potential in HIV-1 replication inhibition and exhibits a synergistic anti-tumor effect when combined with Lenvatinib. Elsulfavirine sodium is relevant for research focusing on HIV infection and liver cancer.
