Estradiol 17-(β-D-Glucuronide) sodium

Cholestatic Agent

Estradiol 17-(β-D-Glucuronide) sodium is a D-ring glucuronide metabolite of estrogen, primarily acting as a cholestatic agent. It functions as a substrate for the organic anion-transporting polypeptide family (Oatp) and the multidrug resistance-associated protein 2 (Mrp2), regulating MRP8-mediated transport processes. This compound induces an immediate and reversible reduction in bile flow and acute intrahepatic cholestasis in female rats while leaving bile acid composition unchanged. It is valuable in research related to the mechanisms of intrahepatic cholestasis.
