Estradiol 17-(β-D-Glucuronide)

Metabolite of Estrogen

Estradiol 17-(β-D-Glucuronide) is a D-ring glucuronide metabolite of estrogen, primarily formed in the liver. This compound serves as a substrate for the organic anion-transporting polypeptide family (Oatp) and multidrug resistance-associated protein 2 (Mrp2), playing a crucial role in regulating MRP8-mediated transport processes. Additionally, it induces an immediate and reversible reduction in bile flow, leading to acute intrahepatic cholestasis in female rats, making it a valuable reagent for research in liver function and cholestatic disorders.
