Ethiprole

Insecticide

Ethiprole is an insecticide that acts as a selective blocker of the γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor, disrupting neurotransmission in insects. It is metabolized to form sulfones at a faster rate than Fipronil in CYP3A4-expressing cells, as well as in murine brain and liver tissues. The derivatives of Ethiprole, including its sulfide, sulfoxide, sulfone, and desulfinyl forms, exhibit enhanced biological activity, making it valuable for research in insecticide efficacy and metabolism.
