Ethyl cinnamate

Vascular Relaxant, Nematocide, Tissue Clearing Reagent

Ethyl cinnamate is a vascular relaxant that targets the VEGFR2 signaling pathway, exhibiting significant anti-angiogenic properties. This compound shows promise in tumor suppression, particularly in colorectal cancer, by inhibiting tumor growth. Additionally, ethyl cinnamate serves as a nematocide and is effective as a tissue clearing reagent for mammalian samples. Its biological activities include the inhibition of tonic contractions induced by high potassium and phenylephrine, with respective IC50 values of 0.30 mM and 0.38 mM in rat aortic tissues.
