Galanin (swine)

Galanin Receptor Agonist

Galanin (swine) is a neuropeptide consisting of 29 amino acids with a C-terminal amidated glycine, functioning primarily as a galanin receptor agonist. This compound demonstrates the ability to inhibit both basal and stimulated insulin secretion in various in vivo and in vitro experimental settings. With high affinity, it interacts with multiple galanin receptor subtypes, as indicated by pKis of 9.63, 9.49, 9.02, 8.98, 8.01, and 8.14 for human and rat GAL1, GAL2, and GAL3 receptors. Galanin (swine) is valuable for research into metabolic regulation and neuropeptide signaling pathways.
