Gamhepathiopine

Antimalarial Agent

Gamhepathiopine is a thienopyrimidinone compound that acts as an antimalarial agent through the inhibition of the Qo site in Plasmodium falciparum cytochrome b. This mechanism results in the disruption of complex III within the electron transport chain, effectively impairing the parasite's metabolic processes. Gamhepathiopine is valuable for research into malaria treatment and the development of novel antimalarial therapies.
