Hyaluronic acid

Glycosaminoglycan

Hyaluronic acid is a glycosaminoglycan that plays a critical role in the extracellular matrix (ECM). It is involved in various physiological processes, including tissue remodeling, cell proliferation, and wound healing. Elevated levels of hyaluronic acid are correlated with tumor growth, adhesion, migration, invasion, and angiogenesis, particularly in digestive cancers. Additionally, hyaluronic acid has been shown to activate the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway and enhances proteolytic MMP-9 binding, contributing to cancer-associated lymphangiogenesis. It serves as a valuable reagent for research in joint diseases, wound healing, and cancer therapeutics.
