Iminodiacetic acid

Metal Chelating Agent

Iminodiacetic acid is a metal chelating agent that targets Cr6+, Cd2+, Ni2+, and Pb2+. This compound effectively binds metal ions through the coordination of its carboxyl and imino groups, reducing their toxicity and facilitating their adsorption and separation. Iminodiacetic acid is widely utilized in environmental pollution control, particularly in heavy metal removal from water, as well as in coordination chemistry for metal ion detection and separation applications.
