Imperatoxin A

RyRs Activator

Imperatoxin A is a peptide toxin isolated from the venom of the African scorpion Pandinus imperator, functioning as an activator of ryanodine receptors (RyRs). It facilitates the release of calcium ions (Ca2+) from the sarcoplasmic reticulum, thereby enhancing intracellular Ca2+ concentrations. This compound is valuable for studying Ca2+ signaling and its implications in muscle contraction and various neurological functions. Its role in modulating RyR activity makes it a useful tool in cardiovascular and muscular research applications.
