Insulin (swine)

Swine Insulin

Insulin (swine) is derived from porcine sources and primarily targets insulin receptors in glucose metabolism pathways. This reagent plays a pivotal role in diabetes research by promoting glucose oxidation, stimulating lipogenesis, and facilitating the regulation of blood glucose levels. Although it acts as an antigen to mitigate pancreatic lymphocyte infiltration, Insulin (swine) does not exert a direct metabolic effect on blood glucose when administered orally, making it suitable for studies focused on insulin resistance and autoimmune aspects of diabetes.
