Isophthalamide

Durg Intermediate

Isophthalamide, a derivative of isophthalic acid, acts as a chemical scaffold in the development of advanced fluorescent chemosensors. Its unique hydrogen-bond-donating properties and adjustable chelating cavity facilitate the selective recognition and detection of a wide array of analytes, including inorganic ions and complex organic molecules. By integrating isophthalamide with various fluorophores, researchers can create sensors that exhibit distinct "turn-on" or "turn-off" signal responses. These isophthalamide-based sensors are effective in detecting diverse substances such as metal ions, anions, neutral molecules, pharmaceuticals, and explosives, making them valuable tools in chemical research.
