Larsucosterol

LXR Antagonist

Larsucosterol, a cholesterol metabolite, acts as a potent liver X receptor (LXR) antagonist. This compound effectively reduces lipogenesis and inhibits cholesterol biosynthesis by decreasing mRNA levels associated with the sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1 (SREBP-1). Its regulatory role makes Larsucosterol valuable in research applications related to metabolic disorders and lipid regulation.
