Lufenuron

Benzoylurea Insecticide

Lufenuron is a benzoylurea insecticide that functions as a chitin synthesis inhibitor, effectively controlling flea and fish lice populations. By interfering with the moulting process in arthropods, Lufenuron disrupts their lifecycle and reproductive abilities. Additionally, it has been shown to induce reproductive toxicity and genotoxic effects, as well as oxidative stress in pregnant albino rats and their offspring, making it a valuable compound in toxicological research.
