MAGL Inhibitor
MAGL-IN-12 is a selective, competitive inhibitor of monoacylglycerol lipase (MAGL) with IC50 values of 3.8 nM for mouse MAGL and 29 nM for human MAGL. This compound effectively increases hippocampal levels of 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG) in murine models. Research applications include the investigation of synaptic transmission dynamics, where MAGL-IN-12 decreases long-term potentiation (LTP) in the CA1 region and inhibits acetylcholine release. Additionally, it demonstrates antinociceptive properties in models of inflammatory and visceral pain, and it may also contribute to the modulation of epileptogenesis.
