Mannose 6 phosphate

Precursor For Mannosyl Glycoconjugates

Mannose 6-phosphate serves as a key precursor for mannosyl glycoconjugates, including lipid-linked oligosaccharides (LLOs) involved in protein N-glycosylation. This compound facilitates the specific cleavage of LLOs and promotes the degradation of G3M9Gn2-P-P-Dol. Research indicates that complexes containing mannose 6-phosphate can remodel the dermal collagen network, enhance skin biomechanical properties, and potentially reverse visible signs of aging. It is particularly useful for studies focused on skin aging and related biochemical processes.
