Marionol

Cu²⁺ Fluorescence Probe

Marionol is a flavonol compound that serves as a highly selective fluorescence probe for copper ions (Cu²⁺). Featuring intramolecular proton transfer in its excited state (ESIPT), Marionol produces strong fluorescence when excited by ultraviolet light, with a maximum excitation wavelength of 350 nm and emission around 510 nm, depending on the solvent used. This compound is valuable for applications in metal ion detection and environmental monitoring, facilitating research in biochemistry and analytical chemistry.
