MBL Inhibitor

MBL-IN-5 is a selective metallo-β-lactamase (MBL) inhibitor, targeting clinically significant B1 subfamily MBLs, including NDM-1, VIM-1, and IMP-1, with IC50 values of 0.05 nM, 14 nM, and 21 nM, respectively. This compound significantly enhances the efficacy of carbapenems against MBL-producing bacterial strains. Additionally, MBL-IN-5 effectively reduces bacterial load in a neutropenic murine thigh infection model when used in combination with the antibiotic imipenem, making it a valuable tool for research into antibiotic resistance and MBL-related infections.
