Milnacipran hydrochloride
Serotonin and Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor
Milnacipran hydrochloride is a potent serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) that primarily targets the serotonin transporter and norepinephrine transporter, with Ki values of 8.5 nM and 31 nM, respectively. This compound demonstrates antidepressant, anxiolytic, and analgesic activities, making it valuable for research into major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, and neuropathic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia. Additionally, Milnacipran hydrochloride has been shown to inhibit pERK1/2 activation and reduce biting behavior in murine models, further supporting its role in behavioral studies.
