Antitrypanosomal Agent

NPD-2975 is an orally active antitrypanosomal agent targeting Human African Trypanosomiasis (HAT). It demonstrates low toxicity in human MRC-5 lung fibroblasts and exhibits efficacy in an acute mouse model of T. b. brucei infection. NPD-2975 shows metabolic stability, with an in vitro IC50 of 70 nM against T. b. brucei. Additionally, it inhibits CYP enzymes, with IC50 values of 0.16 and 0.42 μM for CYP1A2 and CYP2C19, respectively, making it a valuable tool for research in parasitology and drug metabolism.
