NVC-422
Antimicrobial Agent
NVC-422 is an N-chlorotaurine analog that functions as a potent antimicrobial agent. It exhibits virucidal activity against adenovirus type 5 (Ad5) through the oxidative inactivation of essential viral proteins, resulting in compromised viral integrity and loss of infectivity. Additionally, NVC-422 demonstrates efficacy in eliminating a broad range of microbial strains, including antibiotic-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecium. This reagent is useful for research applications involving adenoviral conjunctivitis.
