Kynurenine Aminotransferase Inhibitor
PF-04859989 hydrochloride is an irreversible inhibitor of kynurenine aminotransferase II (KAT II), exhibiting IC50 values of 23 nM for human KAT II and 263 nM for rat KAT II. This compound demonstrates selectivity for KAT II over KAT I, KAT III, and KAT IV, with IC50 values of 22 μM, 11 μM, and greater than 50 μM, respectively. PF-04859989 hydrochloride is particularly useful for investigating the role of KAT II in neurobiology and potential therapeutic applications in neurological disorders.
