(Rac)-Bedaquiline
Racemate of Bedaquiline
(Rac)-Bedaquiline is the racemic mixture of Bedaquiline, a diarylquinoline compound that selectively inhibits the F1FO-ATP synthase of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) by targeting the c- and ε-subunits. This inhibition disrupts ATP synthesis, demonstrating its potential as an effective treatment for multi-drug resistant tuberculosis. Additionally, Bedaquiline exhibits uncoupler activity, making it a valuable tool for research in tuberculosis pharmacotherapy and mitochondrial function.
