Rhodionin

Lipase Inhibitor

Rhodionin is a potent lipase inhibitor that demonstrates multifunctional antivirulence properties. It effectively reduces postprandial serum triglyceride levels by inhibiting lipase activity and modulating sortase A (SrtA), thereby reducing biofilm formation and MRSA-induced cell damage. Additionally, Rhodionin exhibits cytoprotective effects, enhancing survival rates in infected models while maintaining MRSA growth levels. This compound is particularly applicable in research focused on hyperlipidemia, obesity, and pneumonia associated with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
